(Most of the major environmental organizations are not linked here because they are still too wed to the motor-vehicle to be considered bicycle- and environment-friendly organizations.  Coincidentally, they don't have links to bike and non-motorized transport sites either.)

  • iNS InterNetwork for Sustainability  a nonprofit Dutch based informal network of individuals and organizations who take their responsibilities towards society, environment and future seriously.
  • Intute Searchable database/directory for arts and humanities, health and life sciences, engineering and technology and social science research.
  • Macrocosm USA: a non-profit clearing house for progressives.
  • Pedal Power  PEDAL [Pedal Energy Development Alternatives] develops and promotes the use of pedal powered technology.
  • PointFusion Promoting sustainable transport -- tends towards high tech strategies.
  • Preservation Institute: Transportation and Development Politics Information on limiting automobiles, stopping sprawl and super stores, pedestrian advocacy and other strategies for creating a more livable community.
  • Recycling Supermarket - Recycling Supermarket provides news, information and guides on everything to do with recycling, waste management and the environment.
  • Strategic Policy Options for Development The database has eight sub-themes such as financial mechanisms for renewable energy development and environmentally-sustainable transport systems for urban areas. Each SPO highlights critical instruments required for its implementations, expected impacts, evaluation, its applicability and limitations. A total of approximately 150 SPOs are shown in the database.
